Well as per past data, you can get a seat for sure if you are from State Board. In case of CBSE/ICSE that's not a sure thing or if you'll get one then it will be NIT's of lower ranks.
Also the branch and college you will get depends on how efficient you're while filling choice.
If you didn't do it correctly then chances of getting a good college with good stream will reduce to a great extent.

With your given information I think that you might get Mechanical Engineering in NITs like NIT Raipur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Kurukshetra which are good NITs. No your board % are too low aslo the jee main score but don't worry there are some private colleges which are doing exceptionally well.so apply for it. .best of luck

It depends on his board marks, he has 50% chances to get admission in an NIT.

Hey Mohit,
It would be a tough call to get NIT with this much score in JEE mains but you can wait for the counseling. However, I would suggest you to apply for some other colleges so that you are not in trouble at a later stage. You can check out LPU in Jalandhar offering best scholarship based on 12 marks. Some other colleges to consider are-
