It depends on the branch of your interest. However, ECE is an ever green branch with good placements and better scope for higher studies. Not saying that civil isn't good but ECE is better.

Yes, it does. There'll be a concession in the institute fee. The mess fee remains the same for anyone. This is for NITT.

Alright. I understand. I'd suggest Instrumentation and Control engineering. It has better placements and scope for higher studies as it's a developing field which is getting more and more prominent in the practical world. However, you really need to work hard if you take ICE. All the best :)

The exposure depends on college. It doesn't matter what branch you take, if you take some local college with no reputation. I'm doing my final year mechanical in NITT and I can say that things are going well for me and people in my batch.
