Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

NAIT does not provide any on-campus housing facility to the students. Students are required to find housing by themselves.

On-Campus Accommodation

Students can opt to live in the residences of MacEwan University or the University of Alberta. The residence halls of these universities provide fully furnished rooms, studios, support services, free wireless internet, dining halls, grocery options, laundry facility, etc. The accommodation ranges between CAD 7,000 and CAD 9,000.

Off-Campus Accommodation

Students can also choose to live off-campus or in private accommodations near the university. International students are advised to book their rooms or apartments six months before starting the degree at the university.

Please note that you must run a security check on any off-campus accommodation you choose. Also, you must prepare for the additional charges and facilities offered in off-campus housing. Since accommodations are offered on a contractual basis, it is recommended to do a thorough check before investing a huge amount in an unknown place.

The total NAIT and living costs may vary between CAD 32,290 and CAD 41,290 for international students. Aspirants must keep into account these and other miscellaneous costs along with the tuition fee while preparing their overall budget.

Yes, NAIT offers several scholarships and bursaries to international students. The scholarships are either based on merit scores or are offered on the basis of academic excellence of the students.

Students are automatically considered for the Merit Scholarships of the university. The amount of scholarships vary as per the GPA and merit scores of the students. Scholarships are also based on the programs.

Some of the scholarships and bursaries offered to the international students are as follows:

• Energy Sales Management Scholarship

Award : A scholarship of CAD 1,000 is offered

Eligibility : to the students enrolled in the second year of the Business Administration - Marketing programme at the institute. This is offered to only one student enrolled in this specific program.

• A. Golbeck Bursary:

Award : A scholarship of CAD 1,000 is offered

Eligibility : to the first-year students enrolled in technology programs at the institute. It is offered to students who require financial assistance. Students are required to demonstrate their financial needs.

• Edmonton Kennel Club Centennial Bursary: 

Award : A scholarship of CAD 1,250 is offered 

Eligibility : to the students who are enrolled in the Animal Health Technology programme at the institute. Students are selected based on financial need and academic excellence.

• Alberta Blue Cross Health Sciences Award:

 Award : An award of CAD 1,250 is offered

Eligibility : to the students who are enrolled in a Health Sciences programme for more than 2 years of duration. The award is based on the financial need and academic achievement of the students.
