No, the NIT Jalandhar PhD admissions have been closed for the academic year 2026. The last date to apply for NIT Jalandhar admissions to the PhD course was November 23rd 2025. Candidates who are still interested in the PhD courses offered by National Institute of Technology Jalandhar can wait for the June admissions to begin.

No, GATE is not a mandatory entrance exam for all PhD admissions at NIT Jalandhar. Candidates who are qualified for direct admissions at NIT Jalandhar's Engineering PhD courses are require to clear it during ME/MTech admissions.
However, for the remaining candidates, they can also appear for the UGC-NET exam to qualify for NIT Jalandhar admissions.

Yes, candidates can get direct admissions at NIT Jalandhar's PhD courses but only in the courses offered by the Engineering department. To secure direct admissions, candidates must clear a B.E./B.Tech course in any of the disciplines mentioned in annexure I/MCA from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with minimum CGPA of 8.5.

Yes, there is no difference in the PhD course duration at IIM Shillong. All PhD courses offered by IIM Shillong have a duration of four years. These courses are covered within a span of eight semesters with each year having two semesters in it.

Yes, candidates who cleared an integrated course of an UG and PG level course are eligible for IIM Shillong PhD admissions. Such candidates will need to score a minimum aggregate of 55% or 50% if they are recognised under SC/ST/Differently-Abled candidates.
The discipline of the integrated course is irrelevant for PhD admissions at IIM Shillong.

IIM Shillong PhD admissions do provide a relaxation for candidates who belong to the SC/ST/Differently-Abled. These candidates are offered a relaxation of 5% in the required minimum aggregate for PhD admissins at IIM Shillong.
Candidates of these categories are required to score only 50% minimum aggregate to be eligible for IIM Shillong PhD admissions.

The date of announcement for the IIM Shillong PhD admission results is yet to be revealed.
However, IIM Shillong states that the date will be scheduled in between the months of April and May in 2026.
Candidates must go to the website of IIM Shillong after April 12th 2026 to stay updated on any news regarding announcement of results.

The only mode of PhD admissions mentioned on the website of IIM Shillong is online mode.
Since the accepted entrance exams for IIM Shillong PhD admissions cannot be applied for in offline mode, candidates can assume that there is no offline mode of application for IIM Shillong PhD admission.
