Yes you can go for PhD in Management after a distance learning MBA. As long as your degree is from a university recognized by authorities like UGC or DEB you are eligible to apply. Key is having at least 55% in your masters and often passing entrance tests like UGC-NET or GATE.

There is bsically no comparison between the two. The MBA is a higher professional degree for students and working professionals who are into business administration. Whereas a PhD is the highest level program for researchers. The intent of both programs is different, their career paths are different, and even the eligibility criteria are different for both programs.

The real value of a course lies in its ultimate objectives, and those can be different for every student.

Of course it is possible to join the School of Architecture, CMR University, for the Ph.D. without being compelled to sit for CMRUAT (CMR University Admission Test). The university accepts external entrance exams like:The university accepts external entrance exams like:

- UGC-NET
- CSIR-NET
- GATE
- SLET
- JRF

If you have a valid score in any of these exams you have the option to directly apply for a Ph.D. course. The School of Architecture, CMR University, accepts the following entrance exams for admission to Ph.D. programs:

1. UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test)
2. NET (National Eligibility Test) CSIR
3. The GATE which expands to Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
4. There is an entrance test for the students to get admission in the CMR University which is conducted and known by the name of CMRU-ET.
