The issuing authorities of the pilot's license are FAA (America), EASA (Europe), and DGCA (India). FAA licenses are commonly accepted and are flexible and used primarily for commercial training. EASA has extensive theoretical and practical requirements, which are commonly accepted in Europe. DGCA licenses are ICAO compliant and are required for flying in India. They can be transferred from one to another but need exams, medical checks, and flying hours according to the standards of each authority.

So, after 12th — assuming you took Physics and Maths — the next step is finding a flying school that's approved by the DGCA. Before starting training, you'll need a Class 2 medical check-up first. Once that's cleared, you'll also go for a Class 1 medical. Then you can begin your CPL training. It's not just flying; you'll also study stuff like Air Regulations, Weather (Meteorology), and Navigation. After you complete your required flying hours and finish the classes, you can take the DGCA exams. If you pass those, you get your commercial pilot license.

Students can start their training to become a Pilot right after they complete their Class 12. The Pilot training is divided into two parts:
The Ground Course: Typically, it lasts 4-6 months.
Flying Training: Usually takes around 1 year.
The complete procedures, from obtaining the medical certificates to obtaining the CPL, can take between 1.5 and 2 years, depending on the institute.

Students who wish to become a Pilot after completing their Class 12 must pass from a recognised board with at least 50-60% marks in Physics, Maths, and English. After completing their Class 12, they are required to enroll in flying schools where they complete their Ground course and flying training. To start their career as a commercial pilot, students must obtain the CPL, after which they can get paid for their services in an airline.
