Yes, it is possible to go into Political science course without being from Arts background. General Eligibility for joining BA in Political Science is having 50% in qualifying intermediate exam. There is no age limit for joining this course. For getting admission in this course, there are many colleges in India which give admission in this course. Many colleges conduct their own exam and others take admission on the basis of qualifying exam.

I can suggest you 2 names from DU colleges, for BA Political Science. First preference would be Hindu College and then Ramjas College.
You get quality education in both these colleges. These are very different as compared to the other colleges around. You must know that you beed to obtain good marks in 12th exams.
Delhi University is the most preferred choice of today's youth who want to pursue a UG course in Political Science because of the different quality of education provided there. You are assured to provide a quality education if you decide for B.A. Political Science in any of the colleges mentioned by me.

There are plethora of opportunities for a political science graduate in government sector. These include-
1) Professor - After competing BA in Political Science one can do MA in Political Science and apply for UGC NET ( National Eligibility Test) for assistant professor in any university across the country.
Apart from this, one can pursue B.Ed and become a teacher in a government school.
2) Union and State Public Service Commission - A graduate in Political Science can apply for UPSC and State PSC exam and become grade 1 or grade 2 officer in the government.
