Hi Rakesh,
It is not necessary to join the JNU programme, because if that would have been the case then engineers opting for arts/humanities optional like public administration, geography or history would not have been cracking the civil services examination. The syllabus of optional is desgined in such a way, which can be finished in 6 to 8 months, if done regressively. Second, there is no issue joining the JNU programme as it is good for career enhancement too, but preparing for civil services cannot be the only factor.

Hello Shraddha,
You had science in 12th but now you want to change to Humanities. Well, it appears to be a good decision. But Garware is first choice for many. Hence seek admission in another college also.

Although it cant be predicted with a certainity, but if you are a boy, you can expect to get through if you have above 93.5%. Girls might need little more than 94.5%. This is because morning batch which is boys only has a little lower cut off due to more seats. Girls can get into evening batch which is co-ed.
Its a great college for B. Com Honours, if you are considering it as an option.
