It depends upon college to college. The government college placement offers after Polytechnic includes Junior Engineer, IT Assistant, PSU jobs, Clerk, Technician, etc. BSNL, BHEL, GAIL, Railways, ONGC, DRDO, IPCL, PSU, etc. The last job option for the students after Polytechnic is to start their own company and become self-employed.

In pune the govt college cutoff is 80 % in general category.
The minimum qualification required for admission into a diploma course is passing of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC)/tenth standard/equivalent examination, with at least 35 percent in science and Maths subjects.
however if you are seeking admission in a pvt college, you can get the admission at lower %. only you may have to shelve out more money.
For reserved categories there are reservations of 50% as per rules.
