All time highest package is 27 LPA, many companies offer 20+LPA which includes Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Dunia Finance, Fuzzy Logics, Amazon, Two Roads( its a startup by IITK alumni only) etc.
The median package this time is 11.68 LPA. Though I must say, most of the students make it above the 10lpa mark . Some of the recruiters in the 1020lpa band are, Citicorp, Jp MorganChase, Accenture, United Health Groups, etc.
The lowest as of now is 6.5 LPA by EXL. I think TCS and Infosys also made offers little less than 10 LPA. Yes, we have been seeing a 100% placement for many years.
M.Sc Statistics IIT Kanpur has the best placement prospects. Without any doubt within days of joining the institute, our batch got the shock of their life, we had to sit for companies offering more than a lakh for internships. I personally was shocked, because I initially expected this course to be a theoretical one with little prospects towards an industry-oriented career but when Barclays shared services offered 2.4 lakhs + perks for internship,just for internship I realised I was wrong, this course definitely has something which makes students get such great offers. So, I decided to find out what is going on here, and why are we getting paid so much.
