There are plenty of opportunities. But, personally I would suggest you study from abroad at a reputed institution if possible. And get some work experience abroad as well. This gives you a very good base to start off in India.

Getting a good counselor depends on your area of residence. But generally I would suggest IDP as they have offices across India.
