Here at PIBM Pune, your profile does matter up to a certain level. If you have a graduation degree with 50% marks and a valid entrance score (CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MH-CET), then you can get admission to PIBM. However, if your score is lower than 50%, then you have to give an internal assessment exam called PMAT, which will analyse your competence and existing knowledge. Once you qualify for the assessment exam, you will be invited for the GD and PI rounds, where your communication skills, personality traits, leadership qualities, and overall suitability will be assessed. Further, you will receive an email from the admissions department

The MBA and PGDM programs at PIBM are more inclined towards practical learning with job-profile-based training with live projects, internships, and placement readiness for industry exposure. However, equal importance is given to syllabus-driven curriculum to provide theoretical knowledge about the core concepts of the subjects studied to students.

The institute emphasizes practical learning, internships, and placement preparation to build student readiness, while its long-standing relationships with companies ensure regular recruitment opportunities. PIBM Pune has a network of over 1000 recruiters across India, including EY, Deloitte, KPMG, TCS, etc., providing consistent placement opportunities to students for the past 10 years. I chose PIBM Pune over other Pune B-schools for its practical learning approach, early industry exposure, live projects, strong placement support, and flexibility for average-percentile candidates, making it a balanced choice for career-focused students.

The communication department at PIBM is inclined towards providing consistent reviews and feedback to students based on their mock GDs and PIs to help them face the real interviews. It develops discipline, confidence, and helps them work on areas of improvement to become job-ready and employable more efficiently.

Students at PIBM Pune analyse their areas of interest during the winter internship, as it enables them to get their first exposure to the real-world business scenarios. While attending the summer internship, after six months of winter internship, students are well aware of their specialisation and tend to work upon gathering practical knowledge and skills in a specific area to build confidence, discipline, and eventually gain clarity in their future career path. Both internships at PIBM are equally important in shaping the career pathways for students.

After summer and winter internships at PIBM Pune, students become more confiden

Yes, attendance does play a role in placement eligibility at PIBM.

I experienced that maintaining the required attendance is important because it reflects discipline and commitment, and the institute typically sets a minimum attendance criterion that students must meet to be allowed to participate in placement activities. Falling short of this requirement can affect your eligibility for internships or final placement drives, so regular attendance and active participation are taken seriously.

Yes, many companies do come back to hire from PIBM Pune repeatedly every year.

As an ex‑student, I noticed that several recruiters value the practical exposure and readiness of PIBM graduates, so they return in multiple placement cycles. This consistency gives students better chances of getting interviews and offers, especially when they've built strong skills and performed well in previous years' placements.

So, it's not just a one‑time visit; many companies maintain relationships with the institute and participate in campus placements regularly.

At PIBM, the PGDM programme includes several personality development initiatives that help students become more confident and corporate‑ready.

As an ex‑student, I saw these activities integrated into the curriculum and overall campus life:

  • Communication Workshops: Frequent sessions to improve verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and professional etiquette.

  • Mock GDs & Interviews: Practice rounds with real feedback that help polish responses, body language, and confidence.

  • Soft Skills Training: Focus on teamwork, leadership, time management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Industry Interaction Sessions: Guest lectures and disc
