As an ex-student, I found that through career counseling sessions, aptitude tests, specialisation guidance, and industry interactions, students get clarity on which roles or sectors suit their skills and interests. Faculty and the placement team also provide mentorship on aligning internships, projects, and skill development with career goals, which helps students make informed decisions from the very beginning of the program.

Thirty-five years after earning an MBA or PGDM from PIBM students will likely hold senior-level jobs that include serving either as Chief Executive Officers, Directors or Advisers. Students' careers often develop from lower-level management jobs to higher-level strategy development responsibilities for organizations and industries. Many individuals will diversify into entrepreneurship, business consulting or global assignments and use their experience gained over many decades in all these fields. At PIBM Pune, internships are typically evaluated using a KPI-based (Key Performance Indicator) assessment to measure how effectively students apply their learning in real business scenarios.

As an ex-student, I observed that these KPIs usually include:

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and provide solutions.

At PIBM Pune, students are given multiple opportunities to improve communication and corporate etiquette.

As an ex-student, I can say this happens through workshops, presentations, group discussions, and mock interviews. Faculty and the placement team provide feedback on verbal and written communication, body language, and professional behavior.

Regular exposure to industry interactions, guest lectures, and live projects also helps students understand workplace norms, making them more confident and polished for corporate roles.

At PIBM, start working on real-world business problems from the very first year itself.

Through live projects, case studies, workshops, and industry assignments, we were exposed to actual business scenarios early on. This helped me apply classroom learning practically, develop problem-solving skills, and understand corporate expectations, so by the time internships and placements came around, I already had hands-on experience.

There is dual internship model which includes Winter Internship Program (WIP) after first semester and Summer Internship Program (SIP) after second semester. These programs give corporate exposure. Students often get Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from major companies.

PIBM accepts valid scores from national exams including CAT, XAT, MAT or CMAT. If a student has not taken these, they must appear for the PMAT (PIBM's Management Aptitude Test), an internal 75-minute online assessment.

You need either 3-years or 4-years of undergraduate degree in any discipline. At least 50% marks or 45% for reserved categories is must. Final-year students can also apply if they can submit their final marksheet by the time of admission.
