As per NIRF ranking 2025, Government Home Science College emerged as the top ranked college in Chandigarh, secured, 35th position, followed by Goswami Ganesh Dutta S.D. College, under " colleges" category.

There are about 180+ colleges in Chandigarh. O these, Chandigarh University, Goswami Ganesh Dutta S.D. College, Chitkara University, Chandigarh, Panjab University, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, etc.  are the top colleges.
 
Admissions in these colleges are either based on Class 12 marks or through entrance tests like JEE Main, CAT, MAT, XAT, NATA, etc.
