Among the two, sales and marketing is a better option. Energy management is still a niche area and is a growing sector. Sales and marketing is not only related to commodity products and retail, but it also has a diversified sectors like finance, insurance, banking, IT, manufacturing. So, in my view, sales and management is a better option.

Canada has been good for many years. If you study there you get a better chance of getting job there. It is still the 1st choice among Indians.
But at the same time Australia is growing very fast in terms of giving jobs to Indians. The job prospects are more. Again, if you have Australian degree, you get better chance in getting jobs here.
In comparison, both are good but I think Canada is more well paid (But taxes are very high). So, I would suggest go for Australia. Rest is your decision.

Hi Pratik,
For 2016 the average packages were Rs 4 - Rs 5 lakhs per annum. Marketing packages are usually on the higher side, so they'll be on the upper side of that range. The 2017 placements are still underway so cannot ascertain the final average but the average so far has been around Rs 5 lakhs per annum. Placement season picked up slower than usual this year as a result of demonetisation and preponing of the budget.
Hope this helps!
