Retail is a specialized form of marketing only. It is not the question of high / low reputation but of awareness and availability. General PGDM is available in all institutions - specialized courses like retail / insurance are offered at select institutions only. As a sector , retail is the biggest industry in Indian economy contributing to 13% of GDP - compared to IT which is around 6%. But everyone one knows about it.

The chances are good, if you could showcase marketing skills. Else, it is difficult to get jobs into different field compared to what you have done.

The average salaries range around Rs.4 LPA to Rs.6 LPA with 100% placements assistance, which makes renowned brand for oil and gas sector and provides best infrastructure and learning overall.

Finance and Marketing both are best. It depends upon your interest. If you can easily convince people you can choose marketing.

It depends on individuals interest. As you have graduated in arts, it is different from your studies. But you can learn concepts and models of marketing as it is very visible in real world. So, if you are determined to work and study in marketing than you can choose it.

There is no consideration of experience for a call, if you clear the cutoff you will get a call.
Last year cut-off are CAT - 86 percentile, CMAT - 96 percentile and XAT - 78 percentile.
Chances are bleak but worth a shot.

In Automobile industry, MBA in operations would be more suitable in technical field and if you want to go for management then MBA in Marketing would be good.
