Every year, B-school placement reports throw up interesting data of MBA students and on-campus job offers. The main purpose of campus placement process is to introduce the best of talent to the best of recruiters. There are over 5500 B-schools in India and almost all of them provide campus placements to ensure a good start to the career of their students. Although overseas recruitments are currently low in number and restricted to only the top B-schools, the trend is growing year on year. While the number of international offers at IIM Bangalore in 2017 placement process was 13, a total of 20 international offers were made at IIFT in 2017. Similarly, at MDI, Gurgaon too, 15 international offers were made this year. Every year this stat varies. Generally IIMs bags highest number of overseas offer among the B-Schools in India.

Average package in 2017 at SIMSR is Rs 9.40 lakhs while highest package has gone to Rs 24 lakhs even before the process is over.
From amongst the 220 companies for 480 students across programs, 45 participated for the first time and a few visited after a hiatus. The companies visiting K.J Somaiya campus for the placement are offering diverse opportunities and profiles to meet the varied expectations and aspirations of the students in financial services, banking and insurance, consulting & analytics, FMCG, IT/ ITES, retail, pharmaceuticals, media, market research, e-commerce, infrastructure, automobiles, education, telecommunications among others. Among the principle offers made-89 offers were from IT industry, 86 from BFSI,79 offers from financial service.
Average package of Rs 9.4 lakh and highest package being Rs 24 lakh. 50 new recruitment agency participating.
The company being Accenture, Adani, Bajaj, Deloitte, Google, HDFC, HSBC, DCB Bank, ICICI, Kotak, Nestle, Nomura, Oracle, Maruti Suzuki, HCL, L&T, Reliance, TATA, Zomato.

IIT, Delhi Department of Management Science conducted a placement drive for MBA batch with over 30% student getting pre-placement offers from their Internship company. A total of 62 student of the outgoing batch got these offers for higher level position in the company out of 49 company which visited IIT, Delhi for placement 24 were new recruiter. Major recruitment agency were PWC ,KPMG, Marico, Deloitte, HUL, P&G, Airtel, Amazon, General Electric, Snapdeal etc .The highest domestic package offered was Rs 19.87 lakh per annum, the lowest was Rs 7.39 lakh while the median salary was Rs 16 lakh for top 50% batch.The maximum number of offers were made in the field of sales & marketing, operation, strategy , investment banking, digital marketing, project management, consultant, supply chain etc. So opportunities are provided to the student of MBA from IIT, Delhi.

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar has successfully completed it's XUBERANCE 2017 with 100% placement of 2015-17 batch of MBA (BM). The year 2017 embarked another glory in the history of XIMB with 100% placement with more number of companies and more offers being made across domains .
No of students who participated were 362, number of companies -102, 60 company were new recruiter,
50% increase in number of recruitment agency participating.
The year saw record placement with move up in the average salary from Rs 12.44 lakh to Rs 13.26 lakh. with the highest package being Rs 22 lakh at domestic level .
The median annual compensation stood at Rs 13.02 lakh per annum, the average compensation stood at Rs 15 lakh for top 50% batch out of 360. Major recruitment agency like PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, TCS, Godrej, Tata Steels, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, Idea and Bajaj Auto etc.
New recruiters are MRF, Hero Motocorp, Relgaire, GMR, Standard chartered etc. The profile offered were diverse including sales & marketing, supply chain, investment banking, consultant, IT, Analyst , BFSI etc.

Mostly, the global rankings on most of the websites cannot be trusted as such.
The one which I will use is the Financial Times Global MBA rankings which seem to be a reliable source.
The good news is that the top three IIMs managed to secure positions in Top 100.
You will be surprised to know that the top among Indian Universities is not and IIM but is the Indian School of Business (ISB).
According to the 2017 rankings ISB ranks 27th while IIM Ahmedabad ranks 29th. But for 2016 IIM A was at 24th position while ISB was at 29th.
IIM Bangalore ranks at 49th position I.e. way below ISB and IIM A.
Then IIM Calcutta just manages to make a cut at 95th position.
Actually speaking, the ranking system takes in account many factors which work against Indian universities. For example research is given a lot of importance in the rankings but as we know our colleges don't pay much heed to research part. There is some good research going on but it is very limited.
But, if you want to work in India after MBA, IIMs are a really good choice and as a matter of fact offer better ROI as compared to foreign universities.

It highly depends on your goals and your financial status.
If you are getting top three IIMs then don't think twice. Just go for it. Even if the fees are high the returns are also really good.
Only two three IIMs after IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta are worth the fees they charge.
IIM Indore and Kozhikode are also pretty good. The newer IIMs aren't comparable to the top ones.
You can also consider ISB (Indian School of Business). It is also comparable to top three IIMs.
If you aren't getting top three IIMs and ISB then go for good private universities.

Management Development Institute, Gurgaon
SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai
TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal
Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad
You can also consider top IITs ( which offer MBA).
The priority should be top three IIMs, ISB, IITs then IIM Indore/Kozhikode or top private universities like XLRI or MDI.
The decision between IIM Indore/Kozhikode and private universities should be taken considering factors like location, fees and the cutoffs as such.
