SET is the entrance exam for Law courses in Symbiosis University. I do not think that there are books available in the market that deal specifically with SET. However, you can use the books available for CLAT while you are preparing for SET. If you have enrolled yourself in any coaching institute, the material provided by that coaching institute would be sufficient. If you go through the entire material, it would be more than enough. Apart from that, you can use books like Wren and Martin and Word Power Made Easy for English, Objective Lucent for GK, MK Pandey to cover both verbal as well as non-verbal reasoning. For legal, you can use Andhra Pradesh Bhardwaj.
The important topics are comprehension part in English, Current affairs for the last 6 months for GK, Puzzles for Analytical Reasoning. However, all the subjects should be given equal importance to crack SET with a good rank.

UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test is the entrance exam for Law Degree Courses. The exam is not very different from CLAT. The subjects that are tested in CLAT are also tested here. These subjects are five in number: English including comprehension, General Knowledge, Maths, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.
The preparation for the exam should start with going through past year papers to identify what topics are relevant and what areas to focus upon. Now coming to books, for English, you can use any book which covers comprehensively all the topics. Focus should be on comprehension part. For GK, you can use Pearson or Lucent. For current affairs, you can refer to monthly magazines. For Mathematics, you can use Quantitative Aptitude by RS Agarwal. the basic topics like percentages, average, profit and loss are essential. For Legal, there is no specific book but going through past year papers of ULSAT and other exams would help. For Logical, you can again use books by RS Aggarwal.

ACLAT is conducted by Alliance University for admissions to its 5-year integrated law courses. The pattern of exam is quite similar to CLAT expect for the fact that legal aptitude constitutes 45 marks and logical reasoning constitutes 45 marks.
There are no specific books in the market for ACLAT. However, if I come to the preparation part, you should start your preparation with going through past year papers which would provide you with a better idea as to what is relevant and what is not.
Then look for the books which cover those topics comprehensively.You can use RS Aggarwal for Maths and logical reasoning. For English, you can use books of Arihant publications or any other. For General Knowledge, you can refer to Arihant and Lucent to cover portions of static GK, Geography, and polity. There is no specific topic which should be focused more except for the fact that more time should be given to the subject that you are weak in.

First of all, I think the fact that IMS Law College is comparatively new and a private college gives an edge to Faculty of law, Allahabad University which is a centralised government university. Now, let us discuss pros and cons of both colleges. Pros of Faculty of law, Allahabad University are the faculty and alumni basis which includes many chief justice of India and prominent lawyers. Another pro is the fact that you can intern with some phenomenally well lawyer in Allahabad high court and if you are going for litigation, it can be a good choice. However, the placements of Allahabad University are not really encouraging since it has started 5 year integrated course recently. Moreover, the red tapism is too much in centralised university and autonomy to student body is restricted. Now, coming to IMS Noida, which is among few private university focusing on moots, debates and other co-curricular activities which is a major pro of it. Another pro is the fact that it is in NCR and many good firms are established in NOIDA unlike the case of Allahabad University. The alumni is almost negligible and the high court internship can be tiresome owing to distance issues. Overall, it is upon your preferences whether you want a government university or a university promoting activities other than academic excellence.

Well, the university doesn't have much reputation in terms of placements as such. Also, the 5 year integrated course has been recently introduced in last 3-4 years and still the first batch has to pass out.
The claims as to placements in campus are not really true as none of the recruiters are available as of now for the Law course and not a single student has been placed yet to the best of my knowledge .
Also, you have opportunities which any graduate would have after completing his or her graduation.
Also, a traditional university doesn't have much to offer as such.
You may rather prefer a specialized institute in law for better placements and career prospects.
You will have to be on your own in terms of placements after completing graduation and then you may option for anything you like including litigation, judiciary or UPSC.
Also, you may option for legal jobs at banks or firms which depends on your C.V.
The better it would be the better offers you could get.

The students in this college are highly competitive in nature. And, so get placed easily in the area of their interest.
The College has a well-established Placement Cell and appointed a placement officer who shall take care of all the placements. Till now many students have been placed in various firms such as law firms, LPOs, BPOs and Senior High Court Advocates Offices. Top most law firms like Thomson Reuters, Infosys are the top recruiters in here.
Students have also went on to apply individually and got their desired workplace.

There is no sure shot formula to become any kind of lawyer in India or otherwise.
However, one can take the following steps that may work in favour of establishing your career as a lawyer in the field of Corporate law.
When you get admission in law school if given a choice, option for BBA LLB to get a brief idea of companies and their management. During your time at law school, make sure you focus on Contract Law and Companies Law, as they form the basis of corporate law, to get a theoretical understanding of what the field is all about and what all it will encompass.
Try and choose internships and apprenticeships under a reputed firm dealing in Corporate law in order to build a good CV and also to gain a practical knowledge of the field that you are interested in.
After law school, try and focus your energies on getting a job with any firm reputed for their corporate law.
You could enroll in a diploma/certificate course in Business/Corporate law to boost your CV.
An LLM in Corporate Law from a reputed international institution may be a good idea, but LLM, in terms of job prospects, does not really boost your chances.
