You can take some cues from my preparation strategy for SSC CGL. I was able to secure 165 in English Tier-2 in SSC CGL 2016 exam. I was in a habit of reading The Hindu newspaper. I think, it is one of the biggest contributor to my success. I used to read it for 1- 1.5 hours right from Front page, Editorial, Business, and Sports, National, International and some other news. So, indirectly, over a period of times, my English interpretation skills improved a lot. Reading improves Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Sentence formation and I found occasional Idioms and phrases. Additionally it helped me in General Awareness. This is how

B.Tech students can give SSC CGL Exam.

1. MATHS: Non-Maths background student generally stereotype Engineers that all are good at Maths. No doubt we have an edge over Arts, commerce student. We can learn it faster than them. However, the matter of fact is we all have been out of touch and even we have to work hard to score good marks in maths.

The question paper comprises of 4 parts -
1) Quantitative aptitude
2) Logical Reasoning
3) English Language
4) General Studies
1) For Quantitative aptitude, brush up your basics. Select a good book. Practice as many questions, as many times, as you can. You can go for Kiran publication book for mathematics. It is a compilation of SSC questions chapter-wise. It is very beneficial for SSC exams specially for CGL, CHSL.
2) For Reasoning, refer to RS Agarwal. It will be good enough. Just practice and practice a lot. That will only save your life.

Relax: One of the best things to do. People are posting questions should I leave my job to prepare for SSC CGL. And Which coaching I should join to clear SSC CGL. I mean, that's ridiculous.
