A minimum grade point average of 3.0 in previous coursework. A GPA below 3.0 may, in extreme circumstances, be taken into consideration for "conditional admission" to the College of Business. Conditionally admitted students who wish to continue in the programme must earn a 3.0 GPA during their first semester.  

Calculus for three credit. The successful completion of a 3-credit calculus course with a grade of "C" or above must be documented by the applicant. Based on their college degree, professional experience, and desired career path, applicants may ask for a waiver.

The average duration of an MBA at SBU is around 36 to 48 credits, which vary depedning on whether one goes for either full-time or part-time.
Classes are available to be taken in the fall and spring semesters, and in the form of three-week winter term and two six-week summer sessions.
For full-time students, the completion period normally lasts 12 to 18 months.

The requirements for the programme are as followed:

12th- Applicants must have passed high school with good grades

Recommended college preparatory courses: 4 units of English, 4 units of social studies, 3 units of mathematics, 3 units of Science and 2 or 3 units of a foreign language

TOEFL- Marks - 80/120

PTE- Marks - 53/90

TOEFL-0 Marks - 6.5/9 

The Computer Science major provides professional education to prepare students for graduate school or a career in the Computing field. Students learn the concepts and abilities required to develop, program, and apply computer systems, as well as the theoretical and mathematical basis of Computer Science. Students will be able to develop, implement, and assess a computer-based system, process, component, or programme to suit specified needs. 

The MS in Data Science programme consists of 36 credits (12 courses), including 10 core courses and 2 electives. Students are required to finish their MS programme in three to four semesters.

Students will receive intensive training in Data Science, covering areas such as statistical analysis, big data analysis/management, and computing principles.

This programme is given jointly by the Departments of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) and Computer Science (CS), both of which are part of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

It is ranked #77 in National University Ranking By - US News & World Report 2023.

Stony Brook University acceptance rate is 44%. 44 out of every 100 applications are accepted. This indicates that the school is moderately selective. The school wants you to satisfy their GPA and SAT/ACT criteria, although they are more flexible than other colleges.Stony Brook expects you to be towards the top of your class and far above average with a GPA of 3.84. You'll need largely A's, ideally with a few Andhra Pradesh or IB subjects to demonstrate your college-level preparation. If you are a junior or senior, your GPA will be difficult to change from this point forward.
