Yes, the band score system is same for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. But the Reading and Writing questions are little different, so sometimes scoring feels harder in Academic.

Most universities ask for IELTS Band 6.5 or 7.0 Some places may take Band 6, but they also want each section (like Writing, Speaking) not too low. Better to aim for Band 6.5 or more.

Your overall band is the average of all 4 section scores. If you get 6 in Reading, 7 in Listening, 6.5 in Writing, and 7 in Speaking, then average is 6.625, and it becomes Band 6.5. IELTS rounds it up or down.

If you study about 2 to 3 hours daily, it's enough. Give time to all 4 parts: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking. You can change subjects every day so it don't feel boring.

You need the Cambridge books for practice tests. You need a timer or watch to stop yourself in 60 minutes. Also watch some YouTube videos to understand how to solve tricky questions. Consistancy is key.

Yes, many students can prepare for IELTS at home without any coaching. You just need books or online material, a simple plan, and practice every day. If you try hard and follow your plan, you can get good IELTS score by yourself.

You can transfer for free only if you do it more than 5 weeks before test. After that, if it's not an emergency, they charge you full fee. Only serious issues like health or emergency are accepted for late changes.

If you are really sick and have a medical paper, you can apply for refund or new date. You must show medical proof within 5 days after test date. If they accept, they cut admin fee but return the rest.

Yes, but you need to cancel it before 9 days of your test date. You will get a refund after they cut some admin charges, around INR 4,500. If you cancel after that, no refund is given.
