Both Columbia & Harvard are considered among the best higher educational institutions & are very selective at admitting students.
Columbia has an acceptance rate of 3.85% which is marginally better than Harvard's 3.4%. Both institutions are almost similar at admissions & only accept highly qualified individuals.

The tuition fee of a MA programme varies based on the specialisation students decide to pursue. The minimum cost of an MA programme at CJS is around INR 19.88 L & it can go as high as INR73.28 L.
Add to this the expenses that come with living in NYC & the result is an expensive financial package.

Columbia is among the costliest institutions in the US to pursue studies from. Tuition fees can be very high depending on the specialisation students decide to pursue. The MS programme tuition fee can go as high as INR 1 Cr.
Apart from this NYC is one of the most expensive locations in the US to live, with estimated cost of accommodation around INR 40 L for students living in university owned apartments.

Students have the option to pursue the MS programme in both part-time & full-time formats. The standard duration of a full-time MS programme is around 9 & half months while the part-time programme is available to be pursued over 2 years.

Overseas students must be mindful of the fact that they can work no more than 964 hours per years or the equivalent of 60% of the maximum working hours permitted and it is essential that this employment does not interfere with a their academic program.
