Deakin University was established in the year 1974 with the coming of the Deakin University Act 1974. Deakin University was Victoria's fourth university and was the first one to be established in the regional Victoria area.

Initial Establishment

The first campus of Deakin University was established in the Waurn Ponds location. The university is known to be a result of a merger between State College of Victoria and the higher education courses of the Gordon Institute of Technology. The Burwood campus of Deakin University is located on the site of Burwood Teachers' College. This college has conducted 2-year training courses for Primary School teachers and 3-year courses for Infant Teachers.

Deakin University has been ranked #1 in the sports science school globally. The Deakin's School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences has offered a holistic approach. The university has Australia's most advanced sports facilities and technology, which includes an MCG-sized AFL oval, clinical exercise centre, climate chamber as well as teaching labs that has been designed for studies in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. Acceptance rate at this university stands at 60% meaning out of every 100 applications, only 60 students receive an offer letter from the university. It makes it a moderately difficult university to get into.

Algonquin College admission requirements for international students are:

For admission to a post-secondary certificate or Diploma programme (1/2/3 years)

• Class X and Class XII marksheet from State Board Exams/CBSE Board. No grade below 50% is acceptable
• Proof of English proficiency requirement through IELTS, and the required score is 6.0, with  no band less than 5.5
• Copy of passport
• Eligibility criteria differ by the choice of the program

For admission to a post-secondary bachelor's degree programme (4 years)

Any one of the following:

• Higher Secondary certificate
• The Indian Senior School certificate

The University of California Los Angeles campus is located many popular venues such as the Getty Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Santa Monica Pier. The official charity organization at University of California Los Angeles is known as UniCamp that was founded in 1934. UniCamp is a non-profit organization where students volunteer from University of California Los Angeles and they also fundraise money during the year so that the children can attend the summer camp.
