As part of the University of Edinburgh application process, taking the GRE is not required. However, other admission requirements are there which are mentioned below:
Admission requirements for UG courses:
- CBSE (Class 12th): Total score of 80% with 75% in three subjects, consisting of English.
- Personal Statement
- Letters of Reference
- English language proficiency by taking tests like IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge Test of English
Admission requirements for PG courses:
- A Bachelor's degree with 60% or more, or a GPA of 8/10

Yes, it can be considered a little expensive as International students are required to pay a tuition fee for studies at the University of Edinburgh for their Engineering courses. There is an application fee of EUR 27.50 (INR 2,500) while applying for UG programs at this university through the UCAS portal.

GPA = (% / 100) x 4

CGPA, Percentage, Grades and Credits can be coverted to GPA. Each of them have a different formula which must be followed to get an accurate GPA calculation. For instance,
- CGPA to GPA formula: GPA = (CGPA / Maximum CGPA) * Target GPA scale
- Percentage to GPA formula: GPA= (Percentage Obtained/100) x 4
- Grade points to GPA formula: GPA X Hours = Grade Points

Marks can be converted into percentage and then the same formula of GPA = (Final percentage/100) x 4 can be applied to get GPA. Thus, GPA from marks can be easily obtained.

There are different ways of calculating GPAs for admissions or for applying for jobs abroad. The Indian applicants can use a GPA calculator or calculate GPA using their percentage marks or grades.
