Yes, a number of US universities have gone test-optional, and several accept applicants with a GPA as low as 2.5–3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A lower GPA can affect scholarship eligibility, so check each university's page for merit-aid cutoffs before applying.

Indian students can apply to the University of Luebeck MSc in Infection Biology course via Uni-Assist. For admission to this course, Indian students are required to have a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Bio-Sciences with a grade of 2.7 or better.

For restricted-entry Master's programs at University Duisburg Essen, Indian students need a German grade equivalent GPA of 2.5 or more on a 4.0 scale. However, exact cutoffs can vary for different programme and some courses may ask for a better overall GPA.

For the programs taught in English at Rhine Waal Uni, a minimum GPA of 2.0 - 2.5 is required. The English level proficiency required is B2-C1. Students can apply via Uni-Assist. Minimum scores required are-

  • MSc Bionics: GATE with miimum 80% / GRE with minimum score 60% / TestAS Certificate
  • MSc Mechanical Enginneering: TestAS Certificate / GATE with miimum 80% / GRE with minimum score 60%

The minimum GPA required for admissions at the American College of Greece is different from course to course. But on average minimum GPA required circles around 2.5 CGPA. Specifically for transfer and study abroad students, the minimum GPA is 2.75-3. For undergraduate admissions, students require a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4 scale or its equivalent. For graduate programs minimum GPA of 3 is required. NEOMA Business School does not have a strict, fixed minimum GPA requirement for Indian students. Students are evaluated based on:

  • Academic performance
  • Leadership potential
  • Financial need
  • Community participation

However, a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) does give students, a better chance of getting a scholarship at NEOMA France.

Indian students need a minimum GPA - 4.5 to 6.0 (on a 7.0 scale), to be eligible for Griffith University Australia scholarships. GPA requirements for some popular Griffith Australia scholarships are as follows;

  • International Academic Merit Scholarship - 4.5/7.0
  • International Student Academic Excellence Scholarship - 5.5/7.0
  • Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship - 6.0/7.0

For the Humboldt University of Berlin admissions, Indian students are required to have a minimum GPA of around 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale which is above 80% in the Indian grading system. 

Some highly competitive courses may also require a 1.5 GPA or higher. The HU Berlin application needs to be sent via the Uni-Assist portal.
