The university was founded by Dr. Benjamin Lickey in 1919 in the Sam Francisco region. In the 1960s-70s, with the rise in demand for business based courses, the university began offering a number of business based programs with the most prominent one being its MBA.

In 2005, the institute started offering a programme in BS in Diagnostic Imaging & in 2010, the institute introduced the Doctor of Business Administration & the Master of Science in International Business & Finance Management programs.
