SAT exam is conducted seven times in a year. Applicants can choose their preferred SAT exam date and register before the regular deadline. Usually applicants are advised to take SAT twice to improve their SAT scores. But there are no caps on taking the SAT exam, that is, the number of attempts in a year or in a lifetime in total.
