Japan is much cheaper than USA. An Indian student needs around 50 to 60 thousand Indian rupees as monthly expenses. For USA this can go up to 2 lakhs INR.

According to the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, an Indian student needs YEN 89,000 (INR 50,000) per month excluding rent and travel expenses. If you are going to study in Japan for first time then keep a budget of YEN 700,000 (INR 393,260) for the first three months to settle yourself. This will include your overall expenses.

Cooking at home is usually more budget friendly for students. Grocery, milk, bread, and eggs are reasonably priced in Singapore. Eating out, especially at mid range restaurants, can be significantly costlier for students. It can reduce your monthly budget badly.

No, but many countries like Canada, USA, Ireland, Spain, and Italy can ask for a PCC for long-term visas if they find you suspicious. Always check the latest requirements on the visa authority's website before applying, as rules can change.
