Murray State University expects a Cumulative high school GPA of 3 or higher from master’s students and 2 from UG applicants. Even with perfect scores, there is still little chance that a student will be chosen. Students should strive to achieve far higher than the minimum level to increase the selection chance. Murray State emphasizes ACT and SAT scores, which must be above 19 and 980, respectively, in addition to GPA.

The acceptance rate for students is 86%. The university judges students based on their academic performance, rigor of secondary school record, class rank, academic GPA, and standardized test score. Students must perform extremely well to make a place in the university. The university does not allow students with an average score, however, it compensates the low scores with excellent performance in extracurricular activities and relevant experience.
