The annual calculation of tuition fees is done for convenience. Both residents and foreigners pay the same amount in tuition each year at ethz, which starts at 1,200 USD. Some students are given tuition support by the institution through its financial aid programmes. Both residents and visitors can use them.

According to the ETH Domain Fee Ordinance, both Swiss and International students must pay the following tuition and semester fees:

Student fees: CHF 730 per semester

Enrollment in all courses is included in the tuition. It must be paid for both the master's thesis writing semester as well as each ordinary semester.

One tuition cost applies to students who are enrolled in both a Bachelor's course and a Master's programme that follows immediately after. The tuition fees for each enrollment are due by students who are enrolled in more than one study programme (extra enrollment in a separate course).

In terms of rankings, both universities are at par. As per world rankings, ETH Zurich and EFPL both achieve excellent rankings. Despite this, degrees in computer Science and information technology are highly recognised at both universities.

You need to keep in mind the employment outcomes if you wish to work right after graduating. With regard to job outcomes, ETH Zurich and EPFL have radically different scores. In terms of job outcomes, ETH Zurich receives a moderate score of 79.1 out of 100 whereas EPFL receives a meagre 19.4 out of 100.

Both universities are famous educational institutions that offer top-notch courses in computer Science and information technology. In rankings, ETH Zurich does perform better in terms of job outcomes and provides a wider selection of master's degrees. As per student reviews, it is theoretically possible to work while you are studying at ETH Zurich. However, you need to keep in mind that it will be extremely difficult to manage your time because of your course workload and difficulty level. Finding a part time job is not easy for international students as all of them would require you to be proficient at the German language. 

• Non EU/EFTA students will require a work permit for internships or work opportunities. And a work permit is only allowed if your course mandates you to do an internship.
• You are permitted to work up to 15 hours per week of paid part-time employment during the semester. Up to 100 percent of the workforce may be employed during the lecture-free period.
• At the Office of Economics and Labour (AWA), your employer must submit an application for a work permit on your behalf.
  Only when the waiting period has passed and you have a residency permit is this feasible.

The minimum scores required for international students applying for ETH Zurich admission is 7.0 or higher. 

However, there are other English language test scores accepted by the ETH Zurich and below are the requirements for the same -

Potential candidates who wish to apply for a master's programme at ETH Zurich may be required to provide minimum scores in addition to those listed in the preceding table. The choice of course used may have an impact on the scores.  

Additionally, a few courses are taught in German, therefore the language requirements for overseas students would also vary here; in this instance, they might be required to present German language competence scores.

Students are supported by the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) through financial aid, mentoring, and a network of the ETH Foundation. The scholarship pays for all living and tuition expenses during the Master's programme.

Eligibility/Prerequisites
1. Excellent performance on the bachelor's degree programme; grade A for the top 10% of the programme.
2. Please be aware that the selection process may involve a phone/VC interview in February. To ensure that you can be reached, please make sure to include a contact phone number in your CV.
3. You are not eligible for ESOP if you are already enrolled in ETH Zurich's Master's degree course or have a Master's degree.

Applications for ESOP are submitted through the online master application system, eApply.
This also holds true for ETH Bachelor students enrolled in a subsequent Master's programme.

You must upload a pre-proposal for your master's thesis together with the other required documentation for admission to the master's programme. The master's thesis pre-proposal must be created by you and follow accepted scientific citation guidelines.

Requirements for Study Visas in Switzerland

The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) Switzerland has established rules that students applying for a study visa in Switzerland must conform to. International students who are studying undergraduate or graduate programmes at the University of California, Santa Barbara can enrol in on or off-campus part-time jobs. International students who are studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara and looking for part-time jobs are required to have a mandatory legal work permit. If international students have a legal permit to work, then they are allowed to work for 20 hours, simultaneously studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
