Merit-based scholarships are offered to international students at SHU. Some of these scholarships are President’s Excellence Award, Trustee Scholarship, College Scholarship, and Conley Award. Merit scholarships have an award value that ranges from 6,000 to 18,000 USD. If students maintain the necessary GPA, the scholarships are renewable for the whole four years of the undergraduate degree. Also to be noted is the fact that scholarships are scarce and are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Candidates who are applying to the University of Nottingham are required to have the following English language requirements as part of their application process. Any one of the following:
- IELTS: Overall 6.0 with 5.5 in each element
- PTE: 65
- TOEFL iBT: Overall 79 with 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
- CAE/CPE: Overall 169 with no element below 162
Note: The university also accepts Grade 10 (B1 or B2) and Grade 12 (70% or above) grades for English language requirements. Degrees from selected Universities in India can be accepted as meeting our English language requirements.
