Yes, Indian students are required to prove their English language proficiency to study at Queen Mary University of London but the test they take doesn't necessarily have to be IELTS only.

There are English waivers available for Indian students via the Indian boards like CBSE or CISCE boards. Indian students need a minimum of 80% or higher in English in the 12th standard to have their English proficiency waived off.

In case they have to take the test, the minimum scores required are given below -

  • IELTS: 6.5 (with 6.0 in all components)
  • TOEFL iBT (with min overall score of 92 to 100)
  • PTE Academic (min. overall score of 71 to

CAS or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is required to apply for a student visa. A student is issued a CAS only after he/she accepts the offer and has made the payment for a deposit of 60% of the programme fee. Once the confirmation related to this is received, CAS is issued. Once you satisfy the eligibility and admission criteria a conditional offer is sent to you via email. The university issues a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number after it has received payment confirmation and acceptance documents. CAS is required for your student visa application.

The BPP University takes care of the fact that many international students might not be fluent in English. For this, various help programs are run by the university that helps students polish their English speaking and writing skills in line with their specific course requirements. Some of these programs are:

  1. English Language Testing;
  2. Pre-Sessional English courses;
  3. In-Sessional English courses; and
  4. One-to-one support.
