To become a teacher in India, it is very important for candidates to have a Bachelors degree in education (B.Ed). One can also pursue a Masters degree in the same (M. Ed) to add to their qualification and to increase ones employability. Ed. Diploma in Education (D. Ed. ) is a 2 year certified teacher training course after 12th that will equip you with the knowledge required to teach at elementary schools (as nursery school teachers). IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria must be satisfied for candidates to apply for the exam. Aspirants can check the eligibility criteria for IGNOU B.Ed entrance admission in detail below:
At least 50% percent marks either in the Bachelors Degree and or in the Masters Degree in Sciences or Social Sciences or Commerce/Humanity. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent
Trained in service teachers in elementary education. Or
Candidates who have completed an NCTE-recognised teacher education programme in direct mode. The relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks required will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) or PwD candidates as per the norms of the Government of India. Reservation for Kashmir Migrants and War Widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules. A Masters Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for the purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU. IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam is conducted by National Testing Agency, in two sessions for a candidates admission into the 2 year B.Ed programme at various PSCs (programme Study Center) of IGNOU across India.

Dear aspirant, No as per the current norms prescribed by NCTE. You must have minimum 50% in your graduate degree from any recognised Indian University. In case of reserved quota the eligibility criteria is 45% minimum
To get admission in B.Ed general category candidate must have 45% in graduation ( B A/B SC/ B.Com or 45% in post graduation ( M A/ M SC/ M.Com and SC/ST candidate must have 45% in graduation or in post graduation. So if you do not have 50 % in graduation then you should do Post graduation with 45%. Then you will have sufficient qualification to get admission in B.Ed. If you want to do B.Ed on the basis of less than 45%, you can do B.Ed from a college, situated in JAMMU AND KASHMIR because JAMMU AND KASHMIR does not falls under jurisdiction of NCTE. So colleges don't follow the rules of NCTE and give admission to a candidate who doesn't have 45% in graduation.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed is passed graduation or postgraduation in any discipline from a recognised University with 50% aggregate, there is relaxation of 5% in case of reserved categories, you have to clear your backlogs if you want to take admission based on postgraduate degree and moreover even if you complete B.Ed based on graduation degree, you cannot teach higher classes (such as PGT )as your Masters degree is still incomplete, hence for better prospects and opportunities professionally you must complete your Masters degree. For taking admission in B.Ed degree you have to clear all the backs at the time of admission that means you have the complete degree at the time of admission then you can get admission in B.Ed degree.

General Candidates should have at least 50% marks in aggregate in Bachelors Degree examinations or in the Master Degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanity and SC, ST, SEBC & PH candidates should have 45% of marks in the Bachelor Degree examination or in the Master Degree She/ He should have passed graduation with at least two (02) school subjects of minimum 200 marks each candidates having Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.Tech. ). With specialisation in Science and Mathematics (as per AICTE) syllabus with 55% marks in aggregate for General candidates and 50% marks in aggregate for SC, ST, SEBC & PH candidates. B) The Science graduate candidates should have passed with two (02) school subjects (with not less than 200 marks each) out of Physics Chemistry Mathematics, Botany, Zoology Computer Science and Geography. C) For the Arts Graduate candidate, one of the subject shall be considered out of English Odia, Hindi and Sanskrit and another subject shall be considered from the subject studied of History, Geography, Economics, Indian Economy, Political Science, Land Marks in Indian History, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Mathematics (each subject of the above mentioned least should have been studied at the Graduation level with not less than of 200 marks). D) She/ He must have passed Odia as M. I. L. upto HSC level or any such equivalent or Higher Examination or have passed HSC examination of BSE, Odisha in Odia Medium with M. I. L. other than Odia. Such candidate who have passed HSC examination of BSE, Odisha without Odia as MIL should produce a Certificate to the effect from the Headmaster of the concern School that he/ she has passed HSC examination in Odia Medium.
