While not mandatory but it's highly beneficial if you have a bachelor's degree in the subject you want to teach. For example, a BSc for Math, if you want to teach Maths or a BA in History if you are intended to teach History. However this doesn't lessen your chances of cracking an interview if you possess the right skill in the field you are interested in.

Hope this helped!

A candidate applying for the CSIR NET Assistant Professor position will have at least a master's degree with at least 55 per cent marks and also be required to achieve any qualifying marks in CSIR NET. These are suggestions: reviewing the cutoff scores one ought to target for their subject, as these differ from year to year depending on general performance and competitiveness.

Yes, you may opt for Social Science as a subject for the CTET, even though maths may not be a strong suit of yours. Because candidates can choose subjects keeping in mind their strengths and preferences, the CTET offers them this facility. Since you have a B.Ed degree in the Science stream, you are eligible to appear in Paper 2 which includes Social Science. Now, focus on the syllabus that consists of History, Civics, and Geography, because these are the subjects where good preparation will help in doing well during the exam.
