Given your experience working as a receptionist and your educational background in psychology, sociology, and history, it is imperative that you enroll in a course that piques your interest and provides promising job opportunities.
Choose a college for your BA or Diploma programme based on reputation for providing high-quality instruction, opportunities for real-world training, and assistance with job placement. It may be helpful to look into universities that provide respectable social work and related programs, such as
- Jamia Millia Islamia
- Madras School of Social Work
- Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).

In India, there is currently no technical difference between D.Ed and D.El.Ed courses. Both acronyms stand for Diploma in Education and refer to the same teacher training programme for elementary school education.
The use of D.El.Ed was more common in the past, while D.Ed is the current preferred term. However, some institutions and official documents may still use either term interchangeably.

Yes, you can do so by pursuing DEd in regular mode and BA or any other Bachelor programme in distance mode or vice-versa. As per UGC guidelines, one course has to be pursued in regular mode whereas the other course can be pursued in distance mode. Most of the D.Ed courses which are accepted across schools for recruitment purposes are full-time in nature. The new UGC guidelines therefore give flexibility to students to pursue graduation course in distance in order to continue their higher studies after Class 12th.

Yes, you can definitely get a government job after completing a D.Ed course in a teaching line, but it's important to understand the specific requirements and procedures involved.
Eligibility for Government Teaching Jobs:
Clear the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET): These are mandatory exams for securing government teaching positions in primary and upper primary schools (Classes 1-5 or 1-8).
D.Ed qualification: Your D.Ed course must be recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to be eligible for government jobs.
