The CSIR NET exam is conducted in an online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted in two sessions, I. e. , morning and afternoon sessions. The duration of each session is 3 hours. The CSIR NET exam is conducted in five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. The exam is conducted in English and consists of three parts: Part A, Part B, and Part C. Part A is common for all subjects and consists of questions related to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical, and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles, etc. Part B and Part C are subject-specific, and the questions are designed to test the candidate's knowledge in the respective subject.

Candidates can choose up to four exam cities in the order of their preference while filling up the UGC NET application form. However, the final allotment of the exam center will be done by the National Testing Agency NTA based on the availability of seats in the chosen exam cities. While choosing the exam cities, candidates should carefully consider the distance, accessibility, and convenience of the exam center. It is advisable to choose exam cities that are easily accessible and convenient to reach, as traveling long distances on the day of the exam can cause stress and anxiety. Candidates should also ensure that they are familiar with the route to the exam center and factor in any possible delays due to traffic or other reasons to reach the exam center well before the reporting time. It is important to note that the allotment of the exam center is subject to the discretion of the NTA and cannot be changed once allotted. Therefore, candidates should choose their exam cities carefully and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any last-minute hassles.

The Teacher Training Certificate (TTC) programme offered by Calcutta University in India is not equivalent to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. ) degree in the United States. The TTC programme is typically a one-year certificate course that focuses on providing training and practical teaching experience to aspiring teachers. On the other hand, a B.Ed. degree in the US is a four-year undergraduate programme that provides a more comprehensive understanding of educational theories, practices, and curriculum development. Moreover, the US education system has its own set of accreditation and certification standards, which may differ from those in India. Hence, a TTC programme from Calcutta University may not be recognised as equivalent to a B.Ed. degree in the US. It is also important to note that in some US states, additional licensure or certification may be required to work as a teacher, even if you hold a B.Ed. degree.
