Hi,
In order to be eligible for Ph.D. Rural Development course study, the candidates need to complete their Master's degree or M.Phil in any stream along with a minimum 50% (relaxation available for reserved category candidates) aggregate marks from a recognised university. According to the UGC (University Grants Commission), it is not necessary to obtain Ph.D. in India for obtaining the post of assistant professor. It is mandatory only for the post of a Professor. Professors are teaching and research positions.

The UGC conducts the NET to determine eligibility for the post of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for lectureships in Indian universities and colleges. IGNOU B.Ed is an external student degree exams- distant education degree. It does not prevent you from appearing for a SET or TET AS long you satisfy basic educational and age and other criteria.
