There is no age limit to apply for the post of Assistant Professor. A relaxation of 5 years in age criteria is given to SC/ST (reserved) category students. UGC NET Educational Qualification:
Students should have completed their PG from a University Grants Commission-recognised college or university. A relaxation of 5% in educational qualification is given to SC/ST category students. Students who have cleared SET (State Eligibility Test) before June 1, 2002, are exempted from taking the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test exam. While a Ph.D. is required to become a professor, there are some other careers open to graduate students in archaeology. Following are a few possible archaeology-related careers:
1. Assistant archaeologist: You can earn up to 6 LPA with experience in this job.
2. Museum curator: You can earn as much as 5 LPA as a museum curator.
3. Gallery Officer: Your job will be to look after artifacts, and you can earn around 2 to 3 LPA in this position.
4. Documentation specialist: You can get a salary package of around Rs. 3.6 LPA in this job.
5. Government archaeologist: As a government archaeologist, you can get an officer-level post in ASI. At the senior level, you can earn up to ten LPA.
