Nowadays, the same problem occurs to many students. The fact is it is not easy to get government jobs nowadays. You can prepare for government job but do not sit ideal just thinking that you will get government job. I would recommend you to go for M.Tech side by side. As your year will not be waste and you will prepare yourself for government job and aloo for M.Tech. While applying for M.Tech make sure you will get admission in IIT or NIT or some top private institute. It will be waste of M.Tech if you go for low level colleges.

Good morning dear,
The isn't any special preparation that an engineering candidate have to do. The only barrier would be the basics of Accounts as it is new for a non commerce student. So prepare for Accounts as well along with Entrance test (like CAT/CMAT/MAT). Rest all are very similar. Statistics is already taught to a Maths candidate, it makes Economics easier for you.
Thanks and all the best.

Hi,
Both are equally good. It depends on your area of interest. MBA is the one which would help you to learn and interact and scope is wide for learning and earning. PSU jobs would rather be preferred for those who want security but it is a misconception because in the current scenario both the jobs are equally demanding. Have equal pressure and requires equal work out of an employee.
