Tata Institute of Social Sciences has restructured the TISSNET selection process during the COVID-19 breakout. As per the latest TISSNET selection process, Pre-Interview Test stand cancelled, instead Online Assessment rounds are conducted for final admission. TISSNET online Assessment is conducted for a duration of 20-30 minutes by three panel members online. The OA process is conducted online via Zoom application. It consists of the following rounds:
1. Extempore reflection on a given topic: This will be conducted for a duration of two-three minutes.
2. Online Personal Interview In this round, three panel member will assess the candidate's skill on the basis of the programme applied.

TISSNET exam is conducted in last week of February. Therefore, candidates planning to crack TISSNET in three months must begin their preparation in November. To crack the TISSNET exam in three months, here are key tips and tricks for preparation:
Strengthen key concepts: It is a crucial step to TISSNET preparation. Basics are an integral part of solving questions. When preparing for Mathematics, candidates must know the formulas and theorems to solve the questions. While preparing for English candidates must focus on reading newspapers and improving their grammar. Candidates preparing for other MBA entrance exams will be able to cover the syllabus in three months. Device preparation strategy: Candidates must devise an effective preparation strategy as per the days left for the examination. Candidates must decide upon the time to be devoted to each section. Study material: Books are the best source for exam preparation. Candidates studying from a bunch of books is not the right decision. Candidates must choose the right study material as per the TISSNET syllabus and the best author. Practice: candidates must ensure to take an ample number of mock tests to analyse the strong and weak areas. With the help of mock tests and sample papers, candidates can improve their speed and accuracy also. Stay calm and focused: Above all, candidates must ensure to stay calm and stay hydrated while preparing for TISSNET exam. Candidates preparing for CAT simultaneously prepare for TISSNET exam. However, confusion prevails on how to synchronize the CAT exam preparation along with the TISSNET. TISS National Entrance Test is conducted at the University level for admission to Masters (Master of Arts / Master of Science / B.Ed-MEd Integrated ) Programmes of TISS campuses, whereas, CAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by Iims for admission to Iims and other top B-schools across India. The difficulty level of the CAT is relatively higher than the TISSNET exam. Here are the key tips to synchronize the CAT and TISSNET exam preparation:
1. CAT and TISSNET exam syllabus is divided into three sections. Except for General Awareness in TISSNET. Other sections are similar in both exams. Candidates can devise a preparation strategy for both exams simultaneously.
2. The CAT exam is conducted in November, whereas the TISSNET exam is conducted later in February. Candidates must focus on CAT preparation first, as the exam will have a sectional time limit along with the negative marking scheme, hence time management in CAT becomes important. Whereas, in TISSNET there is no sectional time limit and provision for negative marking.
3. Candidates must ensure to solve the previous year's question papers to become familiar with the CAT and TISSNET exam pattern.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts the TISS National Entrance Test every year for admission to MA/PG programmes. The exam is conducted at the university level. Candidates who are willing to take admission to M.A. Programmes of TISS must appear for the TISSNET exam to qualify for the selection process. TISSNET exam is conducted in Computer-based mode at various exam centres. The exam is conducted for a duration of 100 minutes (one hour 40 minutes). Candidates will have to attempt 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) within the given time duration. The TISSNET question paper will be divided into three sections viz. English Proficiency (30 MCQs), Mathematical Reasoning & Logical Reasoning (30 MCQs), and General Awareness (40 MCQs).
TISSNET marking scheme is as follows:
a. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer
b. No marks will be deducted for wrong attempts
c. No marks will be deducted for not attempting a question
The objective of the TISSNET exam is to assess the candidate's following skills:
1. English proficiency- Assess English language usage and comprehension
2. Mathematics and Logical Reasoning- Assess quantitative skills and logical reasoning
3. General Awareness- Assess awareness about Current Affairs social-political and developmental issues.

The TISSNET syllabus for General Awareness is vast and gets difficulty to cover every area. This section will consist of total 40 questions. This section is an important factor to bring the candidate's score up or down. To cover the syllabus of General Awareness candidates must focus both on static GK and Current Affairs. As per the previous year's analysis, the maximum number of questions were asked from Static GK. To prepare for the General Awareness section, candidates must follow some of the key tips mentioned:

Read the newspaper regularly to stay updated with the Current Affairs. Candidates can also refer to Manorama year book for updated GK questions. Candidates must purchase the GK study material as per the TISSNET General Awareness syllabus. This section mainly focus over social issues, hence candidates must lay emphasis over the social current issues.

The TISSNET exam consists of three subjects viz. English Proficiency, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. The TISSNET question paper will consist of 100 questions divided across these three sections. The objective of the TISSNET subjects is as follows:
1. English Proficiency: This section contains 30 questions and It assesses the English language and comprehension usage of the candidate.
2. Mathematics and Logical Reasoning: This section contains 30 questions and it assesses quantitative skills and logical reasoning
