Students must apply for TNEA. For TNEA. Candidates need to passed HSC or equivalent with minimum 50% marks. And NIOS offers senior secondary course equivalent to class 12th. So, TNEA accepts NIOS. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA is a counselling process conducted by Anna University. This is not an engineering entrance test. Among ECE and CSE, deciding which one is better depends on the person's interest. Both are equally good. If you love coding and stuff, then it'll be better to choose CSE, and if you love more of circuits and robotics, then choose ECE. Between ECE and CSE, there are higher chances of CSE getting higher pay packages. But don't get disheartened. As for campus placements, mainly IT companies visit and they pool both from ECE and CSE background depending only on your abilities. Again, both the streams will give you a lot of scope for higher studies!

It's very good that you are aiming for government engineering colleges because the degrees of government colleges are more of value in the market. In Tamil Nadu you just need board's marks for a good college, not the entrance.
