Chances moderate, though wait till last rounds of counselling, seats may get vacant in case people not interested and opting for better opportunities ahead.

It is a good college, you can go for admission. But, in my preference CS or it is better branch.

IIIT Trichy is an average college for B.Tech in ECE. Placements are not so good in this college, infrastructure is average, faculty and crowd/ campus life is good. You can also read reviews here given by the bona fide students of this college
