Based on my research and personal opinion, SRM Vadapalani might be a better choice for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) compared to SRM Trichy. Here's why:

1. Placements & Internships: SRM Vadapalani has a relatively higher placement rate of 70% to 75%, indicating better opportunities for getting placed after completing the CSE course. On the other hand, SRM Trichy seems to have fewer placements and internships.

2. Course Curriculum: The course curriculum for CSE at SRM Vadapalani might be more comprehensive and in demand, considering the higher demand for the B.Tech Computer Science course. Although the exact details of the curriculum

Hi! Congratulations on your rank in SASTRA University!

Your rank of 387 in the Trichy quota is quite good, and you have a good chance of getting one of your preferred branches of CSE, IT, or ICT. However, it is not guaranteed, as the final allotment of branches will depend on the choices made by other students with a higher rank than you.

For more details you may check in college website it would be better understanding for you.

For last year, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 32825 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in IIIT Trichy - Indian Institute of Information Technology.
