Tufts University is a top-ranking university in US, which has been ranked #61 in Best Engineering Schools according to US News & World Report Rankings 2024. The Tufts University School of Engineering offers rigorous engineering education in a unique environment that blends the intellectual and technology resources of a world-class research university with the strengths of a top-ranked liberal arts college. Students can choose from 35 graduate degree and certificate programs at Tufts. Also, a  number of courses at Tufts University are affiliated with Harvard University as well as the Massachusettes Institute of Technology. Apart from this, joint undergraduate degree programs are offered with New England Conservatory, the College of Europe, and Sciences Po Paris. Hence, it is a very good university for pursuing engineering courses and international students must consider it as a study abroad option.

Tufts University does not offer any merit-based scholarships to any international students. However, overseas students who are financially on the weaker end can apply for need-based scholarships while applying to the university. Tufts fulfills the demonstrated financial need of all the admitted students. This demonstrated need is the difference between the annual cost to attend Tufts (including books, personal expenses, and transportation to campus) and the amount a student’s family is expected to contribute each year.

In order to apply for such scholarships at Tufts, students must complete and submit the CSS profile at the university's College Board website. While filling this application, students will be required to submit a set of documents through IDOC. If submission of the CSS Profile would cause significant financial hardship for the candidate's family, they can instead complete the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) once their application has been submitted and they have access to the Tufts portal. The completed ISFAA form and required supporting documents can be uploaded to the applicant's Tufts portal once they have access to it.

At Tufts University, students can submit their online application via the Common Application website, Coalition Application website, or through the QuestBridge National College Match application. Also, students must be aware of the application deadlines, so that they don't miss out on the opportunity to apply. While applying to Tufts University, applicants are required to send the following documents electronically:

• English proficiency exam scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/Duolingo);
• Letters of recommendation;
