Tufts University

At Tufts University, all applicants whose primary language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency. However, if an applicant satisfies one or more of the following conditions, they are not required to provide a IELTS,  TOEFL or Duolingo score:

• Citizenship of Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Guyana, an Anglophone country of Africa or an English-speaking country of the Caribbean; OR
• A college or university degree earned in the United States, in one of the countries listed above or from an institution with English as the medium of instruction; OR
• Current enrollment as a full-time student in a degree-granting programme in the United States or at an English-speaking school. Also, the student must have successfully completed two consecutive full-time academic years of college or university work prior to the date of anticipated enrollment at Tufts University.

If an international candidate cannot satisfy any of the conditions listed above, they have to submit their English language exam scores as an admission requirement while applying to Tufts University. Tufts accepts all the major English language scores; IELTS,  TOEFL,  PTE and Duolingo and students can refer to the table below for minimum score details:

Note: The official scores must be sent to Tufts University by the test provider electronically. Also,  student copies or photocopies of scores are not accepted at Tufts.
