Both universities are average based on their rankings, popularity, and cost. BITS Dubai, and Heriot Watt, both are popular for their Engineering programs. The only difference is HWU has better industry ties, and awarded as the best university by Forbes Middle East.

Both the universities are popular among students. Heriot-Watt Dubai awarded as the best university by Forbes Middle east, where SMU has its global ranking reputation.
