Hello Divyanshi, UGC NET is a national level exam which is conducted by National Testing Agency for those candidates who want to become assistant professor or researcher. The candidates who are in the final year of Post-Graduation or have passed their post-graduation, should have minimum 55% (For General) or 50% (For ST/SC/OBC/PWD) marks from a government recognised institute to appear for the exam. Yes, you can appear in UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test). The exam is organised for 84 different subjects including Home Science. Through this exam, you can get awarded a Junior Research Fellowship and can also get a post of Assistant Professor. From 2019 onward the UGC NET Exam will be organised by NTA (National Testing Agency). If you want to know more about this exam, then visit here- https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam. Candidates always get confused to choose the appropriate subject for appearing in NET (National Eligibility Test). As you have completed postgraduation in Bioinformatics than it will be beneficial for you to appear in CSIR NET Exam in Life Science. CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - National Eligibility Test) is the national level eligibility test for all the Science stream aspirants. Hi Anjana,
After completion of M.Sc or when you are in final semester, you can apply for UCG NET. As you are in just 1st year means you are not eligible for UGC NET at present. * Eligibility criteria :-
You must score 55% or above marks in M.Sc. To become eligible for UGC NET if you are General and OBC Category candidate. If you are SC/ST category then you need only 50% marks in Post Graduation. So you can start preparing for UGC NET from now and please make sure that your percentage in according to UGC NET rules otherwise you will not be eligible for it.
