1. Age criteria:
The eligibility of the age is divided into two parts; first for the post of an Assistant Professor and the other one is for JRF candidates. The maximum age limit for JRF is 30 years and there is no age limit for an Assistant Professor.

You can apply for UGC NET undoubtedly but if you are pursuing M.Tech then you will be eligible for fellowship on after completion of M.Tech. As you said that your subject is power electronics, so you can apply for the exam in electronics science subject.

Firstly congratulations on completing MA.
Now for UGC NET exam, I would suggest you apply as soon as possible because last date of UGC NET 2019 application form filing is 30th March 2019. NTA will be conducting this exam in June 2019 and dates are from 20 June to 28 June as exam will be in computer based mode. You can apply at official website.
