Hello Saurabh,
As per the official guideline, the candidates can apply for the subject of their post-graduation and it's related subjects only. The Science stream candidates can apply for the CSIR NET for five subjects while other stream candidate candidates can apply for the UGC NET for one of the 85 subjects. Both the UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are held for the same purpose that is to determine the eligibility for assistant professor posts in the universities or colleges and for the junior research fellowship award.

The UGC NET Exam dates for the December month is out the exam is from 18 Dec 2018. Environmental Science is a major subject of National Eligibility test. Hi Ratnaprava, The UGC NET Exam is conducted for the determination of candidates for assistant professor posts and for junior research fellowship award. The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The minimum eligibility to apply for UGC NET is post graduation with 55% marks from recognised university. The age of the candidates should be below 30 years for NET JRF while no age limit for lectureship. Hi Chandrika, Yes, the Diploma candidates can apply for the UGC NET. As per the official notification, the candidates must have completed post graduation degree with more than 55% marks from recognised university. The candidates can apply only for their post graduation or its related subjects only. Hello Kanika, If you have completed the PGDM with more than 55% marks, then yes, You can apply for the UGC NET exam. The candidates are allowed to apply for their post graduation and its related subjects only. Thus you can apply for the UGC NET HRM or UGC NET management exam. You must also fulfill the age limit criteria for NET JRF that is 30 years old. There is no age limit criteria for the assistant professor or lectureship posts. UGC NET Exam is conducted every year in the month of June and December. If you are preparing for the National Eligibility test you have enough time for preparation. Well most of the candidates prepare for the exam by enrolling in coaching institutes and many do preparations by self. Well the self-doing preparations is the best method for the exam. Hello Shruti,As you have Botany in M.Sc , you can apply for both UGC NET and CSIR NET exam. According to the UGC NET and CSIR NET guidelines, you can appear for the exam in your post-graduation subject or in similar to that. According to your subject, you can apply for UGC NET Environmental Science and CSIR NET Life Sciences. You need to score minimum 55% aggregate marks. Those students who completed the Masters or Post graduation in a particular subject, there are some eligibility criteria. You need 55% marks in the post-graduation to appear in the National Eligibility test. Whereas, the candidates from the reserved category needs 50% marks. There is no age limit to appear in the National Eligibility test, but to avail the JRF Fellowship, the age limit is 30 years (35 years for the Female and Reserved category candidates.)
