UGC NET Exam is conducted for the aspirants completed the Masters programme. If you desire to make career in the lectureship and Research programme the National Eligibility Test is conducted every year. Before appearing in the UGC NET Exam you must check out the Eligibility for the Test, the common eligibility is as follows
You must complete the Masters in the Subject with 55 % marks. (50% marks for the Reserved category students)
There is no age limit to appear in the UGC NET Exam but to apply for the Fellowship the age limit is 30 years only (35 years for the Female and Reserved category candidates)

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Masters degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc.). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50%. If you have completed Masters in any of the subject you can apply for the UGC NET Exam. The eligibility to appear in the UGC NET exam is as follows:
There is no age limit to appear in the UGC NET Exam and to apply for the lectureship programme.
To appear in the UGC NET Exam you need to complete the Masters in the subject with 55 % marks. The UGC NET Exam is conducted in two phases UGC NET Paper 1-https://scoop.eduncle.com/ugc-net-general-paper-research-and-teaching-aptitude and Paper 2. The UGC NET Paper 1 is the general aptitude test that is common for all the candidates.

For UGC NET, PG is needed. It means you need to complete Master's degree course. But, you're eligible for CSIR NET.
